Dear Cannanine Family,
There’s an important change happening in federal hemp law — and I want you to understand what it means for pet CBD and for your pet.
The good news is that Cannanine will not be affected by this new law – and no changes will be necessary for our products.
In late 2025, Congress passed a large federal bill that included a last-minute provision redefining what qualifies as legal hemp. Under the new rule, finished hemp products may contain no more than 0.4 mg of total THC per container.
That may sound like a tiny amount — and it is. But many full-spectrum CBD products naturally contain small amounts of THC that exceed this new 0.4 mg limit. As a result, most pet CBD products that contain any THC could become illegal under federal law.
I want to be very clear: Cannanine’s CBD has always been broad spectrum and contains 0% THC.
We made that decision from the very beginning. We believe it’s simply more prudent not to include even small amounts of THC in products made for pets. Because our formula contains zero THC, Cannanine products are not affected by this new law.
While many brands are now scrambling to reformulate, nothing is changing for us — or for your dog or cat.
Our commitment remains the same:
-
Safe
-
THC-free
-
Pet-first formulations
-
Transparent testing
- Each purchase helps feed shelter pets!
If you have any questions about these changes, our team is here to help. Thank you for trusting Cannanine with your dog’s wellness.
Warmly,
Justin Palmer
